I was born in Poland at a time when the availability of clothes was very limited. My interest in fashion, and textiles, prompted me to study the chemical treatment of fibres at Textile Technical College, where I learned about the technical stages of making fabrics. I came to Scotland and studied science because of my previous experience, but after 4 years of study, I found that my love of fashion and eye for detail, ability to observe, analyse and problemsolving skills allow me to finally, as a mature woman start the subject that all my life was truly my passion. Finally, I am an HND Fashion textiles student, and this introduced me to new aspects to design products using inspiration from the surrounding world. Having studied science for a large part of my life, I automatically sought inspiration in the amazing world of microorganisms and cells often observed through the microscope. Ever since I first saw the photo of heart cells acoustically manipulated, I have been in awe of the fantastic patterns nature creates and this was my inspiration for the Muse project. Nature was also my inspiration to create interior design project with collection of printed wallpapers and fabrics. The whole project is innovative and breaks with the stereotypical approach to wallpaper design and is mainly intended to cover single panels or walls to give expression and boldness, this project enrich with the collection of carpet designs and woven accessories. The most exciting has been the Kinetics project combined print with knitting, were I was able to create my own punch card and produce so many colour possibilities of knitted scarves. The most exciting for me become knitting and I hope to develop my skills in this area.
