@Rachael MacLachlan

I have gained so much knowledge in the industry having studied for the last 2 years. My favourite part of the whole process is seeing everything come together and take shape. There is such a large number of things that go into making a garment, the development of every little thing so it can all come together smoothly.

Beginning with sketches and ideas, I really enjoy this as there is so much free range and creativity that can go into this stage. Then moving on to blocks and manipulations then starting to think about fabrics and making samples of sewing techniques all before starting my toile. The excitement once the toile is finished knowing I am getting that bit closer to seeing it all finalized.

Once I have got my range of garments completed and am happy with them and my standard of work, I don’t feel my product is quite finished yet. My passion for the whole range and the aesthetic, I like to go into the develop on whole creation and plan how I would like my garments shot and how I would like them to come across in theses images.

Overall in the last 2 years I have enjoyed the process as a whole and love how creative it lets me be.
