I am an avid and tactile learner and enjoy presenting myself with new challenges. Having a particular fondness for traditional design methods with tried and true rules, I really engaged with the bespoke tailoring unit. The physical manipulation of fabric, intricate hand stitching and intuitive pattern cutting has a timeless quality that resonates deeply with me, and feels like something I could see myself doing in the future — albeit with my own personal twist. This feeling also applied to bridal, but in a very different way. Problem solving and attempting to create a complex and unique design reflecting Christopher Kane as well as my own style was an enjoyable challenge. My collection this year is a highly structured one, inspired by Previous McQueen collections but with a militaristic tilt. The use and impact of colour has always interested me. Thus the choice of black and white fabric for my coat, with a contrast yellow lining and matching dress and top for an impactful effect.
