What I love about Fashion Design is the sense of expression, this year has been all about exploring my own theme, of transforming the softness found in natural habitats into a more geometric world. Working with colour is very important to me as a designer, we trap ourselves in an ongoing cycle of dull clothes instead of transporting ourselves into a world of colour, full of ecstatic creations. We learn to be bold and unique and that is exactly what I have explored this year. I have loved combing primary and secondary research photographs to create interesting collages. It made me design more loosely which to me is scary as I am a very precise person, but the abstract drawings I created from this has been the main spur for my designs. I experiment with media and line work to develop my skills every day and can’t wait to continue this process further.
