My work is heavily inspired by the classic novel Wuthering Heights. The dramatic and emotional story gave me the idea to combine these extreme feelings and emotions to show the tragic tale through visuals. I felt that the harsh weathers depicted in the book made a clear and prominent theme to me and it made me think of combining the wily, windy moors and harsh winds and emotions into a garment, by draping and pleating fabric to look as though it is a heavy storm cloud to represent Heathcliff, with the dark and twisted personality I would use bleached and stiffened fabrics, while also remaining delicate and dainty to relate to the Catherine in the book as the ghost who haunts him by using light floaty and airy chiffons atop a fitted dress styled the way a dress would have been in the time the book was set.
