I have always searched for a way to find my true niche within the industry of art and design. Translating culture, ethnicity and imperfections into my work in an expressive way is what I want to bring into my work currently and in the future. I love exploring different ranges of colour and manipulating fabrics and techniques such as print and knit. My most favourite project is named @ease. This project was inspired by my skin, from the acne scars on my face, the textures on my hands to the tones of the colour my skin, and I wanted to bringing all these sensitive insecurities to light. Turning a sensitive topic into something beautiful.
I have been accepted to Glasgow School of Art to study Textiles in a 3rd year entry and I can only say how special this opportunity meas to me as it was always a dream and goal to study at this university. I plan on taking my fashion textiles skill to another level and hope to work either for a high branding company in the fashion industry or starting a brand of my own for the future.
