Thinking about my target market/ who I am designing for is my number one inspiration when it comes to the creation of my collections. Taking into consideration what the customer would want/ need from the final product and how it would fit into their daily lives plays a huge role into how I work.
My strengths as a designer lie within print and weave. Creating print designs to be exposed onto screens has come naturally to me and I find it extremely therapeutic and satisfying to see the process from start to finish. Being sustainable has inspired my work and I try where I can to incorporate recycled materials and aim to continue with this throughout my future design career.
Currently, I am an intern at Iona Crawford in the West End of Glasgow. Being surrounded with interior wall coverings and printed fabrics has given me more insight and understanding of the interiors side of textiles and I hope to explore this more in 3rd year at Heriot Watt University September 2022.
