I have always been aware of fashion's potential to create a persona. Do you want to be a rock star today, or a boss? Your clothes can do that. They have their own personality. As a technologist, I have a passion for under that personality and making it shine in the final garment.
My interests lie in the interpretation of a design and the development of its pattern. It’s a challenge to capture the essence of a design. My strong research skills, my attention to detail, and my ability to problem solve have played a huge role in my success as a pattern cutter.
I particularly enjoy structured designs that use wovens. If you can pull off a complicated, structured pattern that produces an ultraprecise prototype, that’s a very good indicator of your skill level. I would love to work for a designer that gives me the most complicated, technical designs to figure out!
