Future: BA (Hons) Fashion Design with Business at Glasgow Caledonian, September 2021

Chloe Tourish  “Oscar Wilde’s novel ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ inspired my collection. I wanted to explore the idea of having distractions and hidden details that reflect Dorian’s feelings throughout the novel. Expressing this in women’s evening wear by having exposing sultry garments in luxury materials however the wearer is fully covered. I experimented with hand embroidery and painting to give beautiful detail only for it to be concealed restricting the viewers from seeing the honest confessions underneath. My favourite part has been designing because it showed me how far I can push my creativity even if it is unrealistic at first. I loved the idea of a cage so I made sculptures to see if it was possible to include in my collection which it was.

After college, I am going on to study Fashion with Business at Glasgow Caledonian University. I hope to gain experience working in Industry specifically focusing on Evening and Bridal wear and later wish to have my own business.
