At the heart of all my work is attention to detail, specifically surfers texture. I take inspiration from nature and the natural world. I like finding beauty in everything, especially things that are traditionally not considered as such. I like the challenge of thinking outside the box to problem solve and create something new and interesting. This was one of the main ideas for my ‘Growing and changing’ project that focused on mould, mushrooms and fungus. One of the ways I went about this was looking at the details of each of the images of these plants and correlating that to things like beads and textiles. Which created very interesting designs with a lot of meticulous details put in. While designing I wanted to create large organic shapes that looked interesting and after re-evaluating my work I was able to find one that I was happy with.
