My south asian heritage is one of my biggest inspirations. Growing up with colourful, embroidered garments has always been soothing to the eyes. South Asia’s fashion is known for the heavy work but even their simpler garments have something very eye catching about them. As I am getting older, I am becoming more appreciative of my ancestry & gather more knowledge through family members & my own research. Another inspiration has been the film industry, mainly bollywood. Not only are they visually pleasing, but you can see the effort that has been put into the clothes and jewellery, which always makes the scenes perfect. As a designer, I would like to explore more with my heritage and add my own touch to it.
