tend to stray away from conformity in my design process and more focus on self-expression, aiming to challenge the generic societal stereotypes that I feel restrict creativity. I love watching the development of design through the conceptual stages, using looser techniques to explore where you can take ideas before refining into a finalised design and am really drawn to distorted and distressed materials. The overarching inspiration behind this collection was the human connection with nature. Not only the mental and physical health benefits but also to examine their physical links, connecting the vascular system to roots of trees, venation on plants to wrinkles on skin and exploring repetitive patterns shown consistently throughout vegetation and fungi, mimicking the firm suffocation thick roots emit alongside the delicacy and tenderness of fungi. I will be continuing forward studying fashion design at university, I have had a few different offers in fashion design which I am considering, although, I am still making my mind up about which institute. I want to work in the industry designing and am keen to expand my practical and creative skills through further education.
