Textiles generate excitement. It is impossible to ignore their presence, changing and adapting along with society. The idea of a design evolving from something simple, such as a pattern or line drawing, is intriguing to me. My Textiles journey so far has both challenged and motivated me as a young designer. The last two years of my HND Textiles at GCC have proven to me I am driven by my creative persona. Being shortlisted for a Stella McCartney Project this year has allowed me to present more personal and reflective projects of who I am as an Individual. Further developing my skills at a degree level is a personal goal as it feels like I am tiptoeing the surface of design of what I am capable of. I want to understand design, business, and production within textiles, and a degree-level course would allow connecting to the industry directly. Hence my choice to further my studies at Glasgow School of Art, my third year specializing in weaving.
