Starting as a complete beginner to garment construction, after two years of learning I can confidently say that I not only love but also fully understand the process of creatively designing a garment all the way to through to physically constructing it.
Over 2 years I thrived most in bridal as it allowed for freedom and creativity with what I was creating. I enjoy drawing inspiration from nature and making garments look ethereal by using fluid and draped fabrics. I’ve learned that knowing which blocks to use and how to manipulate them to achieve the desired results are vital. Not only this, but visually researching is key to achieving desired impact therefore creating mood boards and taking inspiration from images are as much an enjoyable part for me as physically assembling the garment.
I would like to continue my studies to further develop my skills but attending University with the hopes of working in bridal in the future.
