I really enjoy the process of taking a concept from a 2D idea through to a 3D finished garment. This year I took inspiration from the metallic elements of Alexander McQueen designs for my collection, using chains throughout all garments in my collection. I enjoy the chance to work with my hands, manipulating fabrics to help my designs come to life, particularly the intricacies of hand sewing and embellishing with embroidery or beading. Working with different types of fabrics and getting to learn different sewing techniques throughout this course has been my favourite part of my learning experience.

After studying I’m hoping to further my education by gaining employment to further my training. My work experience within the fashion industry has shown me that I still have much to learn and feel I would benefit the most from employment to gain further skills in the industry I wish to work in.
