I’ve always had a strong interest in the beauty of art, throughout time I started to take my passion for art and combine that with design. As a designer I like to explore different ways to produce fashion. With fast fashion being a huge negative impact on the world my role is to produce stylish garments that don’t cost the earth. I take inspiration from many things such as drag culture and theatre. My style is very editorial and bold, i’m hoping to follow a career in the haute couture fashion industry! Throughout my project in college I looked into how the 1980s viewed the future and how predictions of technology came true. I looked into alien artwork and took line design to develop it further. By using a knife I carved into paper creating sculptures based on line work that for furthered on to final designs. I produced multiple drawings and art into a visual diary with further development on figures while using photoshop to advance my designs. I used multiple techniques with my samples including draping, tucking, hand sewing and embellishment which helped solve the issues and corrections to move onto final products. My final outcomes were challenging and I set myself a big risk as I do like to be challenged. I’m very pleased with my final outcomes and glad I set such a challenge for myself as I believe that this has made me grow as a designer. I’m very excited to move on into to the fashion industry and interested to learn more skills a knowledge. As an inspiring haute couture designer college has made me realise what career I want and has given me fashion experience that I’ll never forget whilst preparing me for the future!
